6. Packing Slip Setup

Print Friendly and PDF

You have now added warehouses, sales channels, shipping providers, orderbots and products to your Skubana account. If you want, you can define your packing slip templates next.

Skubana's WYSIWYG Packing Slip Template Editor allows you to design custom packing slips for your shipments. You can create as many custom packing slips as you want.

NOTE: Setting up your packing slips at this time is optional. You may choose to skip this step, and go back to it later once you're settled in and more comfortable with using Skubana.

To Add Packing Slip Templates

1. On the Setup Wizard, click the Packing Slips panel, then click Set Up.
2. On the Packing Slip Template Setup window, click New Packing Slip Template.
3. On the New Packing Slip Template window, enter a template name, then proceed to the Template Components section to start creating your template.

The Template Components section has four collapsible windows, named Order Header, Order Items Header, Order Items, and Order Footer.

You can include template information in your template via the Field Replacements section at the right. Template information is divided into the following categories: Company, Sales Channel, Recipient, Buyer, Order/Shipment, and Order Items.

The Order Header box is where you you define how you want your company, shipping, and buyer info to be displayed at the top of your shipping label. The curly brackets indicate placeholders for information stored elsewhere in Skubana.

In the Order Items Header box, enter the headings for the different columns of order information to be entered in the Order Items tab. It is recommended to label each header with phrasing your buyers will easily understand.

In the Order Items tab, match up the Orders Items Header box with the proper Skubana information placeholders. Once again, the curly brackets around the terms designate each as a placeholder for information stored elsewhere in Skubana.

Finally, round off your packing slip with a summary of the order. It is up to you to include what you want, but the basic Order Footer normally includes the subtotal, tax, shipping cost, and total cost of the order.

4. You may click the Toggle button to access the packing slip template’s HTML code. With HTML knowledge, Skubana’s Packing Slip Templates become even more versatile. You can completely customize how your Packing Slip Templates look right in Skubana.
5. Click Preview to view how the packing slip is going to look when it is printed.
6. Click Save when you are done.

You should now be ready to create email templates to send to your customers every time they buy your products.

NOTE: You can create a packing slip template at any time by clicking Settings on the toolbar, clicking Packing Slip Templates on the left sidebar, then clicking New Template on the Packing Slip Templates page.
